“I want to be thoroughly used up when I die, for the harder I work the more I live. I rejoice in life for its own sake. Life is no brief candle to me. It is a sort of splendid torch which I have got hold of for the moment, and I want to make it burn as brightly as possible before handing it on to future generations.” ~ George Bernard Shaw
Uncle Hank was just a great guy. All the times he told me "you're a great kid, jods" Always there for anyone. I called him once when I was in college thinking I was in trouble with the law (turns out it was a joke from friends) but he patiently took the time out of a busy day to listen and tell me what to do. Always telling me what a great "kid" I was!! And i remember the fun at Christmas time when we all got together...the peanut butter in the underwear! he had a great sense of humor which I know he got from Gram and passed on to his kids! I miss him already. But I can tell his memory lives on through all of his kids. I will see you all tonight. love Jodi
ReplyDeleteThanks for the memory Jodi. I'm glad that by helping you, he got to see the other side of a practical joke, of which he played many :-)
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to hear more about the peanut butter story, as that one is new to me.
He is certainly missed.
